Monmouth County SPCA

Dear Senator Smith,

I am writing in regard to S 2325. This bill is vital to the health and well-being of New Jersey’s wildlife and the human population(s) that live in close proximity to it. By ensuring that there will be the needed and necessary number of wildlife rehabilitators to aid our state’s injured and abandoned wild animals (through the establishment of the New Jersey Wildlife Rehabilitation Licensing Study Commission), S 2325 protects New Jersey’ human citizens, too.

As I’m sure you know, the advent of Spring brings increased wildlife activity and newborn litters of wildlife babies. Spring also brings increased outdoor human activity, and sometimes humans and wildlife meet unexpectedly, and not always under the best of circumstances (e.g. finding an abandoned baby or babies; hunting accidents; poisonings, etc.).

I urge you to support S 2325, so that New Jersey’s wildlife and citizens are both well-protected.

Sincerely,

Ursula Goetz

Executive Director
